i've been trying firefox 3 rc1 on kubuntu hardy since it came out on 11th june.
I've had so many "freezes", complete OS freezes while using firefox. That
hasn't happened to me using other browsers visiting the same webpages or even

As a possible workaround I used tasksel to install the 'Ubuntu desktop'
task, this does not seem to depend on gnome-keyring-manager.
I haven't rebooted yet to see if the complete Ubuntu Gnome environment
is present.

I have upgraded to Hardy (8.04). When I first upgraded, I was having problems
bootoing in. I had to press escape and go into recovery mode and press rfix.
Since then (over 15 days now) Hardy hasn't crashed once, even after lea
I've just done a fresh reinstall of Ubuntu 8.04 32 bits. The mixer
wasn't working right even after all the updates. The rebuild of alsa
modules fixed the problems as usually.

You're right; if I use the unmodified gvfs-backends package from hardy-
updates, then I don't see this problem with AD authentication - it's
only introduced when I apply Paul's patch.
I do have an updated version of that patch which restores correct
behavior in AD environments.

Hello Dimitrios
i have tried the mouse in other systems even on a windows system on the
same computer. The mouse is working there with no problems.
I also tried other usb-mouses on my ubuntu with no success...
