I have installed Xubuntu 8.10 alpha 5 (alternate install CD) last week on my
pepper pad 3 umpc. Got Xserver by using xorg.cong and keyboard working by
compiling pp3_keypad.c both from pepper pad formus. But no touch screen, I can
see wm97xx_ts module loaded

The gstreamer backend skips the DVD menu, which might be the cause of
this. With gstreamer, the settings are all wrong (Spanish, directory
commentary on, etc.) Xine back

Does your SMB server use ACLs?
Mounting an SMB share that has ACLs enabled requires use of the "noperm"
option when mounting, else it won't work correctly. I've seen things
similar to what you're describing due the missing mount option I've
described.

ACK from me, due to being able to use 64-bit guests, which I know would
be very useful for many. Added to that, the kernel modules are using
DKMS, which will take away the burdon of keeping the virtualbox modules
up to date with newer intrepid kernels.

I have a Senao NL-2511CD Plus EXT2 PCMCIA card (Prism II 802.11b). Ever since
Kernel 2.6.27 was released, I am no longer able to authenticate to a

I am having this problem as well. The disks partitions were setup with
Ubuntu 8.04 gParted, so I am not quite certain how Xubuntu can not read
the partitions. (I did notice a line in the syslog about the sd driver
needing to be updating "Sep 17 00:23:07 ubuntu kernel: [ 78.961984]

are we sure that all E71 that match that fdi snippet are actually GSM
modems?
If not, we have now code that should detect whether its GSM or CDMA
through probing. Only requirement would be the v.250 command_sets.
Can someone test a reduced fdi. For that please use the fdi posted above

I was able to reproduce this problem on my laptop which is a clean
intrepid alpha 5 install with all updates installed, so I doubt that
this is something like a configuration problem. This laptop really has
default ubuntu settings. Also, I'm able to access my MTP device without

It happen once last week. And four times during a work session today. However
it is sporadic. I managed to write good emails in between. I just closed the

the landscape-common when it installs the landscape-client.

While the workaround results in an install, I do note that the install
reports:
"landscape-client is not configured, please run landscape-config"
I do not accept the need to have to conduct further manual intervention
after the install was reported to the user as being "successful" by
synaptic.

Binary package hint: gdm
After a recent upgrade to Intrepid, neither the mouse or keyboard
respond at the gdm login screen. ctrl-alt-backspace does not work.
However, I can switch to vt1, and from there kill gdm. I can then
either start gdm again, after which it does work n
I have an A21p I can test with. I just installed 8.04 and am having
this issue. What should I try?

I was having similar problems with a Logitech v470 bluetooth mouse.
After reading Onkar Shinde's post, I realized that I was using the UI
incorrectly. When you right click on the Bluetooth icon there is the
"Browse Device..." option. I was incorrectly reading this as "Browse
FOR Devices..." To
