Compiz is very slow, everything hangs when windows are beaing
opened/closed or if I scroll in firefox. Even DVB-Playback in kaffeine
hangs. glxgears has about 2 or 3 FPS
If I switch to metacity, everything works fine. Im using kernel
2.6.28-8-generic and nvidia-driver 180.29.

Appeared on up-to-date 64bit Intrepid.
The appended file is the first Megabyte of a ~4GB sized video file,
which propably got corrupted. Behaviour of mencoder seems to be the same
with both ones.

pc is a penutium processor w/ 1GB memory
ubuntu 8.04 + updates
two ethernet cards.
eth0 = address 192.168.1.47
eth1 = address 192.168.1.50
boot system:
eth0 = not pluged in
eth1 = pluged into switch
A:
1. from remote computer:
ping to 47 fails
ping to 5
Updates over the last few days seems to have solved this for me.

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser
After I've closed epiphany-browser, I notice that I still have high cpu
usage, even if I have nothing open. When I look in top, I noticed that
theirs a process called epiphany-browse (not epiphany-browser) that's
using between 60-90% cpu
