Can confirmed the original issue has been fixed, iam now installing this
as we speak.
Did spot that it took ages to get past the Local area, I have gone
through expert mode and only got 1 local chosen so did take a little
while as looked like crashed, but then went one.

Installed Kubuntu Jaunty Alpha 4. ext4 as root / partition. Did all

I don't think that this can really be considered fixed until the feature
is exposed to the GUI. A novice user who will possibly end up removing
packages that they installed on purpose will not know to read the man
page and create a "personal whitelist."

I confirm the bug on Kubuntu 8.10, with Psi 0.12 (compiled from source
with check install). I was unable use my gpg key with Psi, which I
could do in earlier versions of Psi and Ubuntu (dont remember which

Morten, the patch isn't reversed, it is already in the upstream LP
branch, which is where it came from. That branch is also where the
packaging is maintained, so a bzr export of lp:wxbanker/0.4 is identical
to the tar.gz release and contains debian/ ready to debuild. Can you
clarify what you want,

The package is now default in Jaunty but this bug is not fixed. It still
wants to remove third-party packages?
Perhaps a way would be to let manually installed packages automatically
get into the whitelist but as of now, it should not be default IMO.

I can't reproduce this on a Jaunty host. I'm going to mark 'fix
released', as it appears this has been fixed upstream.
If this is something you really want to see fixed in Hardy, please
nominate for hardy release, and I'll attempt to track down the fix. No
promises ;-)
