I've experienced that when switching to lxdm as well. I think this is a
bug in gdm though, that doesn't respect the default login manager
chosen, and starts unconditionally.

Felix, cups-driver-gutenprint is usally installed by default, but one
can uninstall it and then updates will not reinstall the package.. So as
long as your printer is working now your problem is solved.

This continues to happen on more than one of my karmic->lucid upgrades,
very consistently, so I can gather data if needed.
Teinit 2 doesn't help. That just runs the scripts in /etc/rc2.d but the
ones in /etc/init are left un-run.

I had the same problem. An Ubuntu 10.04 installation with RAID1 on 2
500GB harddisks will not boot!
Thanks to the hint from Manny I created the raid-partitions with the

I have a similar problem since upgrading to 10.04 (final) with a Nvidia
GeForce Go 6150. The problem only occurs when booting from battery. It
boots fine when the AC cord is in. It can still boot in failsafe mode on
battery. When booting regularly on battery, I get a black screen and
nothing happen
Have you tried with official Ubuntu 10.04 iso ?

this? I can't find anything.
It seems strange that it only happens when accessing certain
directories.
It also seems strange that if I copy the contents of an offending
directory into a new directory, the problem goes away, so
I tried to reproduce this under my system but works fine for me, please

completely broken sound after upgrade. Sound output stops after resume,
as in bug#578660. In addition, I have lost my microphones (the internal
one for sure, the external I still do not know).

I have done a regression test, and the last release that works fine is 6.12.4.
From 6.12.191 up, xorg log produces the aforementioned PLL error.

to the end of my toshiba nb200 fixed sound. Different notebook model but
same sound card. Headphone jack works correctly and mutes speakers when
headphone are in. Internal microphone works (not sure if that is related

The problem with no sound after resume was resolved by putting
options snd-hda-intel model=toshiba
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
but the mics are still not here. I really am puzzled. I myself submitted
the DMI info to automatically select the model *ages* ago to the alsa
dev list, and it wor
I still think qemu-kvm shouldn't load those kernel modules when the package has
been removed but not purged.
