I've tried linux-image-2.6.33-02063304-generic and
linux-image-2.6.34-020634-generic as well as getting more experience with the
standard lucid kernel.
The behaviour of all 3 is closer to the karmic behaviour - perhaps every 1-2
days the wifi system would die with a 'Microcode SW error'. The

ok, quick straw poll with F-Spot, eog. gthumb, Open Office Express and
gimp shows no obvious issues... but having opened another tab in Firefox
while typing this and dragging the image to it, i'm still seeing the
same problem.

jpg corruption of large images
So, after further testing with the Live CD and the regular install, I
was unable to get the problem to happen a second time with the live cd
(it happened only once with the live CD). I was able to regularly
experience it on the regular fresh install. The only difference? the
Nvidia graphics
That url doesn't work but if OOo works for you now that is fine.

I even have that set as an open-with action. Yes, there is Rhythmbox,
but I do play albums this way over SSH from servers etc, as well as I
like this way of playing music now.
