I booted from a Live USB key created from Kubuntu's 20110426 natty-
desktop-i386.iso. When the initial screen appeared, I selected "try
Kubuntu" instead of "install Kubuntu". When the Plasma desktop

I have the same problem too. That is, the Save Dialogue box does not
open up once the recording is stopped. I wanted to check the .py file
mentioned above; but, I could not locate it. This is because, I am
having, /usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6 and not python2.7.

I've got new news on my status. I noticed that my monitor does not blink
anymore. I speculate an update in this past week has fixed the issue.

I should have mentioned that what is fixed is the single monitor version of the
problem. I cannot currently test on a multi-monitor setting.
What we have is a fix. We were able to isolate a few synchronization
issues between the display, compiz and the rendering that were causing
problems

I just upgraded a box with an affected remote to natty. After
installing the updated package from proposed, the problem is now fixed
for me.
