I'm experiencing the same issue on a new U160-0894 (i5-470UM, working
Turbo). I've tried current (Thu Oct 28 15:22:13 PDT 2010) versions of
the fixes/next/staging branches to no effect.
To be clear:
Backlight is on, no output appears once the i915 driver loads.
External monitor works fine.
I would also like to help with anything that's possible.
I would even spend a decent amount of money if this can help to resolve the

ppd file which uses PS Level 3, does print just fine, however the file

I don't think you are reading the specifications correctly. It is PS
Level 3 emulation which means it contains a non Adobe PostScript
interpreter that implements all the Level
I do have the same problem on a HP Laserjet 2605dn, as someone else
already had in the original bug report.

In the end I replaced the module by a Broadcom one a few weeks ago. The
laptop is running as clean as can be. It never freezes, I suspend/resume it

What happend:
I couldn't select the Ubuntu Classic session, NOR find a menu of all
applications, PLUS all my panel links were not there once I
installed the gnome-session-fallback package

I'm having the same problem on oneiric. The screen randomly freezes for
a few seconds (the mouse still moves, but everything else is dead), then
everything turns black for a second, and then it all goes back to
normal. Afterwards, I find this in my syslog:

So for us still clinging to 10.04 you can edit /usr/bin/xdg-email by
your selfs...
May I also suggest allowing correct processing of links where for
example body and subject is not always in lowercase ? This can be done
by adding the -i flag to grep and do a s/^subject=/subject=/i via sed.
