When running Saucy live, did you have the nvidia card disabled in BIOS?
As well, when you first reported this bug, your nvidia card didn't show
up in lspci. Would this also be because you had it disabled in BIOS?

I was able to confirm the lockups happening also on an AMD/ATI laptop.
However, I get much more lockups on the Intel.

Is it true that the fix implemented here was to disable frequency
scaling? I agree that this can be considered a workaround, but to claim
that the problem is solved is a bit far. Users expect CPU power
management to function on a modern system. Disabling it as a long-term

I'm on 13.04 in a Thinkpad T61. As of ~Sep 27 (I updated) the cursor
become jumpy, seems watchdog is to be blamed:
top - 10:50:36 up 14:05, 3 users, load average: 1.10, 1.41, 1.44

This bug has a serious impact on the usability of Thunderbird. As
Thudnerbird is a default application in Ubuntu a quick fix for this bug
as SRU is highly appreciated.

Title:
I need to update the firmware on my Crucial M500 ssd drive. To do that
I must create a bootable USB drive. There's no way I can due to this
bug.
Steps:
1. Run Startup Disk creator from menu.
2. Select ISO.
3. Select USB drive if not already selected.
Try to burn.
Boom.

Okay: I did the following.
Under "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu" I created symlinks for the libs that are
given within the error message.
The Fedora files expect each library so be available as "*.so.0" while they
only the "*.so.1" symlinks are available.
Afterwards I had to install "libdb5.3"

leaving it for a long time I get this prompt:
