Oliver, the bug in ubuntustudio-controls is fixed. The problem with the audio device itself is a different one. it looks like jackdbus is frozen. killall -9 jackd jackdbus will kill it. Then maybe try running jack with a buffersize of 4096 rather than 1024 as some mother board audio systems require
