This is a seriously annoying bug. I think it comes down to Evince
needing an option to override the PDF's zoom settings. As Sean pointed
out in #7 this is part of the PDF spec, but it's really annoying when
reference books which reset the zoom any time you flip chapters :(

I ran into this in a fresh install of 32-bit 10.10 with both the netbook
and regular Gnome desktops. Shift-insert does seem to work.

I just reproduced this on Lucid x64. Setting the external monitor to
smaller than my laptop monitor worked; as did alt+moving the presenter
console over to the laptop from the external monitor, when the
resolution on the external monitor was set higher. I'll attach a
screenshot.

Had the same issue with a 1.9MB pdf that ballooned to 27 MB on printing.
I loaded it in epdfview which generated a 2.7MB job.
