I downgraed now the packages:
libpurple0_2.10.3-0ubuntu1.1_i386.deb
libpurple-bin_2.10.3-0ubuntu1.1_all.deb
from precise, it fixed the issue.

Can confirm this, on 12.04 this bug is still present, add:
acpi_osi=Linux pcie_aspm=off
to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub, do
sudo update-grub
to work with ubuntu on Dell Vostro3700.

This bug is still present in Pidgin 2.10.6 (libpurple 2.10.6) on 12.10.
Earlier i have reduced my gg contacts list and pidgin was stable. The
bug hit me again now. I reduces the user list by some but it does not
help. I can switch off all accounts in the xml file, pidgin will start
but hand again a

My pidgin hangs (window greyed, no reaction) just after activating my gadygadu
account.
Using 12.04. I synced the package list on another 12.04 machine, synced
the ~/.purple directory, on the other machine pidgin is not crashing,
staring as usual. I have a long user list
Happening many times a day, especially when/after using java in browser
(ff).

Dell Vostro 3700.
Problem "solved" by downgrading pm-utils to 1.3.0 on 11.04. With pm-
utils 1.4.x the laptop freezes or reboots randomly after few minutes. AC
powered a little less, battery powered more often. Other solutions
described here not helped.

Hi. This bug is not fixed.
The ppa:raof/aubergine does not fix it for me, only the ppa:xorg-
edgers/ppa does fix this bug.
At login time the left button works, short after the login too, later
not.

The 'nobrl' option for cifs works for me on three wotkstations.

I can confirm, the "nobrl" option at mounttime is a workaround. With
this option i have no problems opening older office files on a CIFS
share.

I had exactly the same issue. 10.04LTS. One is a fresh install, second
is an upgrade from 8.04LTS.
Mount says //ks-eisfair/mew on /home/piotr/mew type cifs (rw,mand)
File permissions are 100755. Copy the to Desktop and back to NAS solves the
issue.
