Confirmed. I can reproduce the issue for Empathy 2.32.1 on Ubuntu 10.10.
'apport-collect 674251' in your terminal doesn't work for me because it tells
me I'm not the reporter of this issue.

I found that the problem is ATI, not Ubuntu. Support for quite a number

support X Server 1.6 which is included in Ubuntu 9.04. Ironically
support for X Server 1.6 was introduced in Catalyst 9.4. Please, let ATI

I just installed 9.04. The webcam is working again in Ekiga. I don't,
however, get anything when Flash tries to use the camera on a website
like mebeam.com.

I'm, again, terribly sorry for the long delay. I've been working my ass
off lately and I didn't even get round to buy some new empty discs to

have the issue any more myself after installing the ATI drivers, it
might be useful for others. Sorry for the delay I didn't have the time
to look into it when you last posted a reply and forgot all about it
after that. Can yo

I should add that after installing the restricted ATI drivers the
problem was gone. Because of the changes I'm not sure if the first log
is still useful. Let me know if this is the case, I could boot the live
CD to reproduce the same effect if that on creates a log as well.

Public bug reported:
After installing Ubuntu 8.04, or running it from the live CD for that
matter, the top and bottom panels don't utilize the maximum resolution.
The same goes for the login screen. While the bottom panel can be
