I encountered this issue while using a "Lenovo ThinkPad Compact USB"
keyboard with 3.19.0-33-generic. For this keyboard and most likely many
recent Lenovo Thinkpads the correct module that needs to be added to
/etc/initramfs-tools/modules is "hid-lenovo". Executing "update-
