I just wanted to state that this issue seems to have resolved itself.
I've grabbed the updated packages from apt and these are what I believe
the relevant updates were. Is there any more information that might be
more useful?

I noticed this bug when Nautilus is open while viewing a user-level
folder and moving a file to /usr/share/pixmaps with the terminal.

in the Nautilus launcher, and does not provide an indicator under Trash.

Confirmed. Dragging a window from any state (snapped, windowed) to the
title bar will produce this. Has to do with changing window buttons to
the title bar.
