What is very interesting, if you uncheck in gconf
"apps/evolution/shell/skip_warning_dialog" evolution will come up (not
with the calendar-component, but will come up). If this option is set,
clicking twice on date results in evolution beeing started, but with no

Is this only bonobo-activation-server or (like on my machine) evolution-
data-server-1.10, too? There are 2 processes running after log out from
a gnome-session, e-d-s and bonobo-activation-server. The latter gets

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evolution-data-server
E-d-s stays active after session logout, breaking e.g. gnome-settings-
daemon after re-login without killing e-d-s explicitly on console.
Encountered this Problem first time in Edgy, after updating to Feisty
today nothing changed.

I can confirm this behaviour. It seems to be at least partly related to
bug #58083 - after installing a fixed xserver-xorg-core-package, that is
one where XkbGetKeyboard-function is fixed, the problem vanished.

The issue with the bytecode-interpreter is a bit more complex, at least
as far I can see. I could get it turned on only with a "broken"
libfreetype I compiled from source, turning FT_LOAD_FORCE_AUTOHINT-Macro
off (this means: breaking it).
This macro is used in upstream and patched sources, preven
