yes i can change to virtual terminal. and then i try to change to
runlevel 2-5 and i cant get back in GNOME. i event tried init 3,
startx=says error already running. and then i try switch from init 1-5.
also ctrl + alt f1-f5 no difference. had to restart to get back in GNOME
dm.

yes its a synaptic touchpad. and i copy pasted that and it doesnt do a
thing. something deeper is going on here. looks like some type of
hardware/driver detection issue. feisty and gutsy detected my touchpad
fine though. as a matter of fact my xorg.conf file is pretty plain. and
even if i try paste

compiz doesnt work . on pclinux2007 everything works. please find out
what pclinux 2007 has done/differences to the kernel or the distro
itself. and incorperate that patch onto ubuntu hardy.

after installing windows wireless drivers with ndiswrapper net8185.inf
on encore ENPWI-G2 wireless card everything freezes except for mouse. i
even tried using using 1 to install drivers and then putting ndiswrapper
in /etc/modules to start. on next runlevel 3 boot it will fre
using latest ndiswrapper-common and ndiswrapper-utils-1.9 as
of jan 6 2008

i cannot scroll using the right side of my touchpad of my laptop in hardy.
this was automatic in feisty and gutsy. i also did a dpkg-reconfigure
xserver-xorg and there is no 3 mouse button emulation. i would like to report
this. and i hope the team fixes this.
