I also have this problem. When I start Base it crashes immediately. I
use jaunty (9.04) in which base is not installed by default.

I have got jaunty with KDE and still have this problem:
$ apt-cache policy korganizer

I didn't find any more request asside the backtrace output in this topic. But
as you wish...I still struggle wit it.
Next days I will upgrade to 9.04 so maybe this bug would no longer bother me -

I use KDE 3.5.1
I installed kdepim-dbg.
What I did:
1) opened Kontact
2) switched to calendar
3) changed size of right main calendar pane - calendar view is divided into
three columns:
panel switching application, list of tasks and calendars and third main
calendar view
