This is still an issue, and letting it time out does not speak well for
someone who's only trying to install Ubuntu to repro an issue impacting
one of your users.

The same effect appears using dapper. (I added dapper to the taglist).
Mousepointer doesnt appear after sleep sometimes. No problems with
switching to console.
I am using an IBM X41 Tablet PC, also with i810-driver for an Intel
915GM graphic--device.

On the first boot, (after oem-config-prepare) I tried adding a user
named 'staff' which apparently failed due to there already being a
'staff' group... (I saw that on the command line when I tried later)
oem-config failed to add the 'staff'
