As far as I can tell I was using an alternate install cd ( not a genuine
ubuntu disk but a copy from "The Linux Emporium" ). Now that I examine it,
there is a file on it that is called "cdromupgrade" that seems to work if I
use that and select the option fetch packages over t
It might be that you use the desktop CD for the upgrade. We currently
only support the alternative CD for upgrading.
