the volume of the subwoofer is controlled by the hardware volume control
of your creative 4.1 speakers
you have to post the pulseaudio verbose log to study the channel mixing
matrix

I checked the behavior today. I found out that it seems to be fixed.
Subwoofer sound would be muted only 4 other speakers are muted.
I am looking forward to see other problems being fixed.
