Thank you for your bug report. I'm marking this as confirmed based on
Miguel Martinez and Ian Howson feedback. We still have to figure out if
it's a xfwm4 bug or a xscreensaver one.

I've changed the package for this to xfwm4; I assume a relevant
developer will be notified. I'll leave it to them to determine whether
it's confirmed - I think there's still a bug here (at least
behaviourally) and so it's not fixed.

I was refering to the last tab, the one with the compositing manager
options, so that "Previous Tab" meant "The tab described in the point
above". Actually, "Display full screen blablabla" was the option I
wanted to name, but I just didn't remember. Please keep in mind I've
only seen that option tw
Ahh, yes, you're right. Disabling compositing does give the correct
behaviour (screen is black at unlock dialog).
The option was at WIndow Manager Tweaks. I'm not sure what the 'previous
tab' is that you're referring to (I have Placement, and that's not
relevant). I did find that unchecking 'Displ
Are you running the xfwm built-in compositing? I've found that, on a
Xubuntu machine using xfwm and compositing, the desktop would be shown
together with the "unlock dialog".
Expected behaviour: Lock screen -> move mouse -> black screen
surrounding the "unlock dialog"
