Same experience as julo. Also, I have a storage volume I use to mount
manually after boot. If I mount it quickly I have no problems. Sometimes
I get into this bug. And sometimes all starred locations on that volume
disapper. It appears to be a race between me and the tracker.

Also in case that helps, I experience the same bug. In addition, #2 did
not work for me. Immediately after executing "tracker reset -e" on a
shell, nautilus shows instantly after a click, but the problem comes
back at the next reboot.

Hi,
in case that helps, I have noticed that this bug is 100% reproducible
for me hen I try to start Nautilus right after booting my laptop. If,
however, I wait for a few minutes after booting, I can start Nautilus
without any delay.

Hello,
As RussianNeuroMancer, my explorer finally starts after almost one hour.
But i'm not on virutal machine, it's happening on my laptop under 19.04.
We are 4 working with same settings and i'm the only one experiencing this
issue..

Interestingly, I left virtual machine with not working Nautilus running,
and few hours later found that Nautilus started after all. So it's not
like it not working at all, it's just take few minutes/hours to show the
window.
I restored virtual machine backup created yesterday and this was
reproduc
Workaround does not help me too anymore. So there is possibility that
after system upgrade there was one issue, and now it's another.

Same issue for me. It was working for a while and all of a sudden it
stopped. The workaround mentioned in #2 doesn't work for me.

Same issue here, same workaround helps.
Sebastian, it's seems like Nautilus does not crash. It just start, sit
there and do nothing, not even create a window, yet still running in
background.

Update: Enabling and disabling the search and notification permissions
on Settings->Applications->Nautilus solved the problem.
I will leave the bug report open as I think there is still a bug
involved (maybe related to tracker?).
