Although the bug seemed fixed, the same happened to me today. I'm using
a Ryzen 5 2600, GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB DDR4 RAM and the Ubuntu 19.10, and
after I've done a fresh install and rebooted the system, I couldn't
login. My Xorg log was the same as the reported above and the resolution
was the same, bu
Actually not the gdm3 update, something else that updated in last
coupleof days. What, don't know, not worth pursuing..
