Ah, yes, Sorry about that.
It does not work to hide the icons via the extension settings. Eg, the
settings dialog never shows when requested from Gnome Tweaks. So it's
impossible to do as one can do in 19.10 where you could say, do not show
trash can on desktop etc...

Thank you for your bug report, the title you used "doesn't work
properly" is different from the description of the report "doesn't
include a settings to be turned off". What doesn't work as you would
expect?
The desktop icons are part of the Ubuntu session, that's why it's can't
be turned off (sam
Worth nothing, as a workaround I issued `dpkg -r --force-depends gnome-
shell-extension-desktop-icons' followed by 'apt-mark hold gnome-shell-
extension-desktop-icons` to be able to get rid of the extension. Once
done, logging out and back in will give you a clean desktop with no
icons.
