Hi,
in the last backporters team meeting we decided to approve this backport.
We'd still like to see some of those bugs you mentioned properly fixed in focal
itself (as an SRU), but we recognize that doing so would be a non-trivial
amount of work and as such probably not a good use of your time
thanks for replies, unfortunately there are many patches that fix freezes,
crashes, other major bugs and recent hardware support. also upstream at the
moment does not have git (it will only have it from the next version barring
unforeseen events) and this makes it even more complicated and time-
I agree with mapreri. Backports is not how to get bug fixes for crashes
and such into older releases.
Please follow the procedure for SRU, not Backports.
