Actually - what source did you build from?
If you are willing, would you be able to test the package that is in
-proposed? That has the patch fix in it, and should be good to go.
You will need to add the proposed archive, instructions can be found

Hi Mitchell! I noticed that the spotlight feature broke for us after we
upgraded macOS from Monterey to Ventura with the latest Samba 4 package
on Focal. Considering the Samba versions between Focal and Jammy are the
same, and your Spotlight patch is the only patch missing in the Focal
version of S
One additional note - The fix for this is available in Focal in the
-proposed pocket.
