OK, I upgraded to Jaunty beta and the problem is solved here; I'm using
the rt kernel right now. In case it helps at all now, the module was
ath5k.

What module is used for wireless when you boot into the vanilla kernel?
I don't think the unavailability of snd-rtctimer should prevent
Rosegarden from playing sound. At least it does not here. However see
