I'm currently using jaunty, and I'm receiving this error message quite often
both in totem and in rhythmbox. I believe I'm currently using pulseaudio. Do
you need any other info? Thanks.

I can not test it in jaunty because that means i have to reinstall my system,
but it occurred in jaunty too and now in karmic.

Thanks for the report, could you test the same with jaunty? and see if
the issue is fixed there? what error message do you get? do you use
pulseaudio, alsa or oss?

same here after update to jaunty :(
but it could happen without any interference with pidgin - when i start totem
audio broken - if i restart totem couple of times it begin to work fine
Please fix this!
P.S. in 8.10 all was fine :(
