A very old patch to solve this issue for LTSP mounts is located at
http://people.canonical.com/~ogra/95_suppress_umount_in_ltsp.patch and
was provided by Oliver Grawert in the duplicate bug #107523
Maybe it could form the base of a newer patch to solve this issue.

I can confirm this bug. It also affects all LTSP deployments where we
have the USB keys and CDROM mounted using fuse (ltspfs) over the
network. The user doesn't have the right to unmount them directly and so
the eject button fails.
