Dmitry Divius Tantsur, thank you for reporting this and helping make

ATI display drivers (both free and fglrx) doesn't work
I've got a question. how did you deactivate the ATI graphics? I used the lenovo
script to do so, but if i look vids on youtube or somewhere its gettin a bit
more hot underneath. this is strange..
so can anybody tell me how to get fully deactivated the ati graphix? i use
lucid lynx with acer
Same here. I just upgraded from 2.6.31-20 to 2.6.34-020634rc6 from the
mainline repository and now neither radeon nor fglrx work.

It affects me too. I have a 4810TG acer aspire with ATI radeon HD 4330
running under Lucid beta2. When I had activated the privative
controllers I couldn't start the system again, so for now I'm only with
the intel graphics.

This is an Ubuntu specific problem. It works fine for me with X.Org
1.7.6, kernel 2.6.32 on Arch Linux.

Looks like an issue with the kernel drm code. Bumping over to kernel
team.
Meanwhile, you could try either booting with KMS off or try installing
the mainline kernel build which has newer drm.
