I've deleted the .idex file and the theme doesn't appear in the icons
tab. So I assume it's not a bug.

Hi
I downloaded the package from the link provided above. Then I used the
mouse settings capplet from gnome to install it and use it.
The theme was installed in ~/.icons/
It includes a index.theme:
[Icon Theme]
Name=Jaguar X
Comment=Famous OS cursors
Example=left_ptr_watch

Thanks for your bug. How and where did you install that theme? An
index.theme is considered as a theme index, if you install it under
.icons that's normal it's listed then
