I can confim this on Maverick. Why is this marked "incomplete"? I
think all information the users can provide is there: Activate compiz
and the full screen shortcut is just passed to the application instead
of properly executed. Deactivate compiz, and everything works as
expected.

Got it by installing extra compiz plugins. Still not working, though
after enabling it.

Got this problem in Maverick and the "Extra WM Actions" plugins is not
available anymore.
Anyone have another solution, or where can I get "Extra WM Actions"?

If you use Alt+F11 as the shortcut, make sure that Tomboy isn't stealing
the keypress as it defaults to using Alt+F11 for one of its own
shortcuts.

If you're using Compiz, you just need to enable "Extra WM Actions" under
"Window Management" in CompizConfig Settings Manager.

The bug doesn't occur when having Desktop Effects set to None.
As a workaround when you have enabled Desktop Effects you can use a
small program called wmctrl.
Install through terminal:
sudo apt-get install wmctrl
or you can install it from Synaptic.
Once you have installed it go to System ->
I can confirm this does not work in lucid yet (now RC). I have used it for
making my NX session go fullscreen on a single workspace.
It has worked very nicely in karmic.

I confirm this bug, it seems that the .. hm, window manager, which I
imagine translates the key press into "do fullscreen", simply pushes the
key press onto the windows. For example, running "top" in an xterm I
get "unknown command" when I press my configured fullscreen key
combination while norm
Using Lucid, I can confirm that after setting the "Toggle Fullscreen"
keybinding in "System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts" attempting
to use the shortcut seems to do nothing.
My question is what should happen? Is this the same thing as
pressing F11 in firefox and gedit for example? Do a
