So I fixed it directly in nm-applet code, dropped the m-b-p-i depends to
a recommends.

Hmm, perhaps it would be best to add it as a recommends to modemmanager
instead, since it's what actually needs it, even if it's only really
used by the clients. Just need to check whether network-manager-kde or
the plasma-widget-networkmanagement packages do something special and
different to get
