Hi! I know this is closed but I'm getting the same "*ERROR* radeon:
couldn't schedule IB" error flooding all ttys and the screen doesn't
respond to clicks. Can only use reset switch to reboot. I have a custom

I was experiencing a similar one after upgrading to 11.10 - garbage on
the screen, and "*ERROR* radeon: couldn't schedule IB" flooding in
dmesg.
Luckily, installing the latest kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com
/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ solved the issue for me (I've used 3.1.0-rc9).

2011) on Ubuntu 11.04 with Unity. I can't remember it occurring any
other time except when I have Gnome Terminal maximized (which has often
been the case recently), and it seems to happen about every few hours.

Looks like I may have the same error. It first occurred after I updated
the packages below. So far, the error occurs every time I reboot, but
the "onset" varies. Sometimes the system freezes before the login
screen even comes up, other times it freezes at the login screen, and a

i got the error too, can't find any working solution in the world wide

strg+alt+f1 does not work.

I have this problem after system locks screen due to inactivity (30 min,
in my case). I have a ThinkPad T42, lspci shows VGA compatible
controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV250 [Mobility FireGL 9000]

I've the same as songohan82, except I do not face this problem every day (lucky
me!) and that for my part it doesn't seem to be related to Firefox at all.
I'd like to add that I'm a frequent user of "suspend" when I travel
to/from work, just in case this is a factor.

#4 No. In this case the screen doesn't jump or wraps. Simply it freezes.
You can move the mouse, you can click anywhere but nothing occurs
because the graphics have hanged up.
The only thing you can do is press Ctrl + Alt + F1.
In Karmic Koala this bug wasn't present. I updated from Karmic to Luc
