Title:
Meerkat: gscan2pdf looses first page on multi-page duplex scanning
To
Looking at the code, I think that the problem with the scanadf frontend
must have been fixed by the code cleanup in v1.0.0. Please try the
latest version from the PPA.

According to comment #8, the problem only occurs with the scanadf and
scanadf-perl frontends. The problem with the libsane-perl frontend I
think was a different one, which I think was fixed with v1.0.3.
Please try the libsane-perl and scanimage frontends.

0.9.31-2, it's v1.0.4 - 2 years later, and still broken? Really? I just
upgraded from Ubuntu Lucid (which must have been older than 0.9.31-2
because I enjoyed gscan2pdf for a few years).

I attached the debug output as file "gscan2pdf_debug.txt".

This is a known issue.

Ok.
scanadf and scanadf-perl show the same error.
scanimage-perl and scanimage work correctly.
libsane-perl thinks that DIN-A4 is too large for the scanner (whyever).
A test with a smaller scansize worked.
I'll use scanimage now instead of scanadf. If you you need support to
debug scanadf by do
You can change the frontend in Edit/Preferences. Please test the other
frontends.

Ok, have access to my computer again:
I now scanned 3 double-sided pages: Again, the 1st page is missing
completely, pages 2 to 6 are scanned, thumbnails 3 and 5 are missing,
rest is ok.
The issue with the filename is solved. I did not notice the change in
the properties dialog with the new versi

Are you talking about the using the PDF metadata? I can't reprod
The file was saved as PDF.
The error with the thumbnails was reproducible.
I made a little typo: Pages 2 to 4 were scanned correctly, page 1 was
missing and thumbnail of page 3 was empty. Empty in a sense that there was
no thumbnail at all.
I'll answer the rest when I have access to the computer

Which frontend (Edit/Preferences) are you using? Do you have the same
behaviour with all frontends?
