Nope, this is no longer an issue for me. I believe the crash was due to
memory issues (mainly lack of memory). Thunderbird still crashes
occasionally but not while composing messages.
This bug report can be closed out.

Is this still an issue for you? We are trying to trying sort out the
older Mozilla issues and would like to know if this still happens. If so
can you please attach the full crash report with a fully updated system.
