I'm running a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.04 and I am having the same
issue. I have tried several fixes for other laptops with this problem
including blacklisting various components, running a script that makes
the computer only run on one core during resume, and even adding a
command to the kernel

Sleep / hibernation works fine. Upon touching any key to wake up, I am
presented with a black screen, no cursor. Have to press and hold power
to reboot.
