Hi! Ok, here are my results:
"ls /sys/class/backlight" without extra boot parameters: "acpi_video0
acpi_video1 intel_backlight"
ls /sys/class/backlight with "acpi_backlight=vendor" boot parameter:
"acer-wmi intel_backlight" AND backlight control WORKS!
I also tried kernel
linux-image-3.4.0-03

bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently.
