I had 5-6 contacts in the K address book. This program would not open. Thus, I
uninstalled it, to reinstall. It will not.
The only thing new, was I downloaded DropBox so that my MS Word doc
would not have conversion issues when attaching in Yahoo email.
Has Dropbox opened

You have not specified which version of synaptic and ubuntu you are
using.
