Hi Aaron, I set the but to Incomplete because it was not clear what we
needed to do to fix it. Setting to triaged. (btw, I think this bug is
fine for tracking this request)
Till, can we add this functionality to foomatic or gutenprint? (or file
an upstream bug about it?)

Thanks for your help, Till (and for all the brilliant work that you have
done for printing in Gnu/Linux).
At the moment, when I connect to this printer via samba and have to
manually specify a driver, I have to know that the correct driver is the
Pixma ip4200. It would be excellent if there was so
The entry on the OpenPrinting web site was entered via an input form for
user contributions and therefore it is not in the Foomatic database
(foomatic-db). system-config-printer relies on the locally installed
PPDs and PPD generators (the Foomatic database is one of them, another
is Gutenprint, see
