The HWE kernel on Bionic does not have this problem anymore, as it was patched in a previous update. Previous kernel versions (as 4.15 and 4.17) seem to never hit this particular bug, but the kernel bugzilla discussion suggests the bug was present on older versions. -- You received this bug
