urgh... this sucks, I was wondering why some apps wouldn't work with
jack and why pulse couldn't talk to jack. This isa big problem for audio
production

Matthias, nope, Bug #416778 is still not fixed. It's in the process of
getting fixed (and will likely be fixed early in the Lucid Lynx 10.04
cycle - just speculating). It's also way too late for this bug to get
fixed for the Karmic cycle.
