Hi there
I'm not a linux expert, just a user, but i believe the problem is with
your graphic card(s). probably the drivers. do you have same
specifications on your both pcs? from what you described it looks like
that ubuntu and your graphic card are not getting along well.
like you mentioned
My father are using the same version and he don't have any problem.

Rhytmbox, Banshee, Nautilus, NVidia 304 and 319 it drives me really
crazy but i don´t wanna change the distro i love this Gnome Ubuntu too m
