the NTFS journal is incomplete, gparted will (understandably) refuse to

To clarify: if this PDF is corrupted, I don't expect the impossible and
for the file to print. But if it shows up on screen, I at least expect
an error message telling me that something detectable has gone wrong
when I attempt to print the file.

apport opened and took me to the launchpad webpage. I fill in the brief

When playing a DVD movie there is sound but no video, after
OK, I created a new script in /etc/acpi/suspend.d/95-set-image-size.sh

After some more tests and discussion on alsa-dev ML, I can consider the
solution provided above as a valuable workaround. I think that the bug can be
cancelled from launchpad, because probe_mask=1 allows sound to work. Moreover
it seems that this has nothing to do with the kernel. Only Alsa
