This appears to be similiar to the bug reported in #527835 _except_ that
this is a clean/fresh lucid installation to which no additional repo's
have been added other that what the package manager adds itself.

Seems to be fixed with todays update of Lucid 08.March.2010.

From memory for the contact that worked I added it manually and in the
example above the one that didn't work was added automatically by the
plugin.

I've just tested this in with a clean installation running in a VM.
The steps to recreate the problem are as follows, setup pidgin since
this appears to be what evolution is using to automatically install
the contacts .
Then in evolution Edit - Preferences - Mail Preferences -

I'm also seeing this problem on the latest hardy with all bug fixes
applied.

GNOME evolution 2.22.2
When I start evolution (or click on the contacts button) with the
following;

I can see all my auto
After a bit of digging around I think I've found the cause of evolution
failing to display the contacts in the list, it appears that when the
plug-in auto synchronizes it fails to populate the email field. As
shown when the contact is saved as a .vcf.

I've the same problem on a clean install of ubuntu hardy, the first run
without arguments prompted me to run with knocker --help which then
crashes;
