Sometimes the screen just remains black after mode changes etc., and I have to
force a reboot.
rc6 is disabled. This is with kernel 3.0 . Some 3.1 package allowed me to boot
with rc6 enabled, 3.2 doesn't switch

In Ubuntu, I don't see the locales in the Enigmail package although it might
be in the source.
Of course they are in the package - as i said, the localization works fine.

pida does not cooperate with emacs
The actual error appears while configuring python-setuptools. Might be a
problem of pycentral or python-setuptools itself, but definitely not of
pida. As soon as python-setuptools is configured correctly, pida should
also configure cleanly.

As you noted, upstream (Mozilla) doesn't version its SONAMEs at all by
default, which is in itself a bad practise(TM). Debian and Ubuntu add
symbol versioning (not to be confused with soname versioning) to pretty
much all packaged libraries, and might possibly change other things that

I can confirm this. While this setup doesn't seem too common, it's certainly a
valid and supported one.
This needs to be adressed on the slapd side, so reassigning this.
