Actually, same issue with ntpdate. There is a script /etc/dhcp3
/dhclient-enter-hooks.d/ntpdate which is supposed to create
/etc/default/ntpdate.dhcp. But since that script is not being called by
dhclient (because of the command line supplied by NM), the new
configuration file is not created.
At this point I have not switched to Karmic yet. Sebastien, do you have
any machine with Karmic?

If I close the browser - I can hear the sound in vlc (may be, gnash
locks dsp?). But - only if I use alsa as sound output. If I change sound
output to pulseaudio - no sound again (actually, there is some annoying
noise and shh).

The bug seems to be really partially caused by gtk-gnash. Once I close
the browser or remove gtk-gnash plugin, vlc can play sound (on alsa!).
But vlc still refuses to play using pulseaudio. Under any circumstances.

gmplayer can play sound using either alsa, esd, pulseaudio. Of course,
when the browser is down or gnash plugin is disabled.
That most probably means we actually have 2 bugs:
1. gtk-gnash locks /dev/dsp so no other programs can access it. I guess it is a
bad behaviour.
2.

The visible issue is that gnome-settings-daemon does not reconfigure USB kbd
when it is plugged out-in.
The reason for that is that libxklavier is not notified about XInput event.
The root cause for that is (most probably, I am 99% sure) that libxklavier is

This is very odd! There is no call of start_listen inside process_error.
There is no call of set_indicators inside start_listen. Should I mention
that set_indicators never invoke that Xi function?... It seems the stack
is seriously messed up. I'd recommend running g-s-d with export
(on a side note, on PPC plugging/unplugging usb kbd does not send
notifications anyway, in Jaunty...)

AGPMode 1 is a disaster. X server takes 233% CPU (on 2-CPU box:), the
mouse cursor is moving very slowly, 1/3 (upper) of the screen is
black... It took some patience to ssh, change xorg.conf back.

Tried to build gspca on the latest ubuntu dev. Getting a lot of build
errors, related to missing asm/semaphore.h, missing functions
(video_usercopy), struct fields etc etc.

Since this is powerpc architecture, I am very cautios in relation to
upgrade to unstable version. But I am planning to do that early in
September - then I'll try. BTW, would it make sense to build just latest
ati driver without full upgrade to intrepid? Does ubuntu apply many
patches?
