Steve: the fix in bug 260687 is making sure /var/lib/samba is created by
moving directory creation to the appropriate package. It's not solving
the segfault that happens if it's not there.
However here the problem is different, as it happens with an existing
/var/lib/samba directory. Emptying the
@foucault - Nope. Mine (reported earlier) was x86-64 on raw iron; not
xen.

fixed in version 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3 - earlier than the version Jorrit
reports is installed.

I can confirm, too that the intrepid-proposed (kernel 2.6.27-11)
solves the issue. Now I can see all 276 files on the nfs-share
(before only 149) and no crash anymore. Whoopie!
But I can't find anything related in the kernel changelogs.
Does anybody have an idea which change did the trick?
