0.11.3-0ubuntu1 and the same error occurs when trying to use a 10G LVM

Sorry about that. I had to reinstall karmic fresh, for other reasons,
and the problem seems to be fixed.
When I install tftp-hpa in karmic (9.10) installs openbsd-inetd. Both
the startup scripts for these two packages are installed in
/etc/init.d/. However, by default tftp-hpa is set to not run by default
with the RUN_DAEMON=yes set while openbsd-inetd starts up tftpd anyway,
because of its default

You are right of course, /etc/fstab on the guest contains /dev/sdXY
entries. These get generated by
/usr/share/pyshared/VMBuilder/plugins/ubuntu/feisty.py as you mentioned.
After changing all /dev/sdXY to /dev/vdXY I can indeed boot happily

I clean installed Ubuntu Karmic in october 2009 and just discovered that
my system time is 15 minutes off. I had ntp as well as ntpdate
installed, but it clearly never synchronized. The time and date applet
in the panel doesn't work either. I deinstalled ntp and manually
executed ntpdate
